Accessibility

Many people who need Arkhelion are tired, in pain or foggy. A site that is hard to use shuts out exactly those people, so this matters here.

The goal

I aim for arkhelion.ai to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. That is a goal, not a claim: the site has not had an outside audit.

What has been done

• Less motion. If your device is set to reduce motion, the site stops its animations and shows everything in place.
• Readable text. An automatic test checks text colours against the AA contrast level on every change.
• Keyboard. You can use the site with a keyboard. A "Skip to content" link lets you jump straight to the page.
• Light or dark. A switch at the top of the home page changes the colours, and your choice is kept.
• Structure. Pages use headings and landmarks, so screen readers can find their way. Decorative photos and icons are hidden from them.

What is not right yet

• The site has not been tested end to end by a person who uses a screen reader every day.
• The automatic checks cover the main pages, not every older page.
• The free tool asks you to choose a file. That step has not been tested with every screen reader and browser.

When you will hear back

I reply within five working days. Arkhelion is one person, so a fix may take longer than a reply. I'll tell you what I plan to do and when.
